Here are the results of the USSSA Fall Classic played this past weekend in sunny and hot Phoenix, AZ! 10U Majors In the 10U division the Az Dash who were sporting their pink shirts on Saturday finished the weekend with a 3-0 mark and their first Majors title! I never got the chance to ask but I am guessing that the pink was in support of breast cancer, what an amazing gesture! The Dash beat up on the Anthem Firebirds by a score of 13-5 in the finals. The Firebird took care of the Dirtbags in the Semi by a score of 13-5 to set up the matchup in the Championship. 10U AAA In the AAA division it was the Arizona Grinders Gray who grinded their way to the title with three straight victories in 98 degree heat on Sunday! The Grinders first took care of the Scottsdale Heat by a score of 8-5, they then beat the Goodyear Gators 8-2 and then handled the Stetson Hills Stealth in the Championship by scoring 16 runs to the Stealth's 8. This was the first 12u Majors tournament of the year featuring four of the best that Arizona has to offer. In the semifinals both games came down to late inning heroics to set the stage for the final. On one side the Stealth overcame a two run deficit in the bottom of the 6th to upend a very tough Storm baseball 6-5 while on the other side the Warriors needed to hold off a late rally by the Big Chuy Rockets out of Nogales. 12u AAA In the AAA division the AZ Dash program won their second title of the weekend by beating the Cave Creek Sox in the finals by a score of 5-1. The Dash were dominant all weekend posting a 4-0 mark while outscoring their opponents 43-17.
