April 26th – Kissimmee, Florida

The Central Florida Bobcats are the 2009 USSSA 11U Florida State Champions.  The Bobcats came into this tournament ranked #14 nationally by TravelBallSelect.com.  After dropping a loss to a very solid Mizunos Glory team, these Bobcats played up to their national ranking, rolling off four wins over very solid teams.  These wins included a 9-1 diffusion of TEAM Nitro, a 6-5 heart stopper against the Tamp Crush, culminated by a field battle with TEAM Combat for the title.  The Bobcats walked away from this battle with a 9-1 win and the State Title trophy in their hands.

Overall, the Bobcats went 4-1 in this very competitive tournament, in a state where baseball is considered to rank among the top 5 states in the country where quality baseball is played at all levels.  These wins extend the Bobcat's overall record to 55 wins and 13 losses when one includes their Fall season record.  Their record in 2009 play now stands at 23-4.

While several teams in this tournament made a strong case that they can be considered among the nations best, clearly the 2009 edition of the 11U Central Florida Bobcats proved that they will continued to be respected as one of the top teams in the nation.

Congratulations to these State Champions.
