15U Nor Cal Baseball

Nor Cal has established itself as the model of consistancy, so it should come as no suprise that the guys with the interlocking “NC” on their hats may be the odds on favorite to win the coveted TBS “ NC”, this time meaning the Natonal Championship.

With perhaps the nation's best weekend rotation and an offense that can score runs in bunches, if this bunch takes care of business their will be a lot of smiling faces on the West Coast this summer.

OFFENSE

When it comes to the nation's best offenses, few can match this group of run producers.  Starting things off in the lead-off spot is speedy centerfielder Tyler Krause and he can pretty much do it all.  Joining Krause is returning TBS All American SS/2B Phillip Evans who is a D1 prospect waiting to happen.  Also, throw in a couple of more very talented players in Team USA MVP Zach Davies and USA teammate Alex Rheal and they’ll definitely be able to score their fare share of runs.

PITCHING & DEFENSE

It would be hard to imagine any team having the depth in its pitching rotation like Nor Cal.

Look for Team USA LHP Collin Reed to lock down one of the weekend slots after a strong showing in Puerto Rico.  Robb Woodcock ( 6'4 did not throw last year -injured) along with Tyler Goddell, and, Alex Blandino,  and Dylan Davis ( hit 90mph last summer) will vie for the other slots.

Nor Cal has its own version of Billy Wagner in flame-thrower Billy Flamion.  Look for Flamion to be the closer.

Strong pitching, a great interior defense with Evans and Davies rotating at 2B/SS, and with run everything down Krause in CF, eases a lot of nerves on the coaching staff.

KEY ADDITIONS

Nor Cal has added 4 key players to this year’s roster in Blandino, Goddell ( who has grown to 6'4), Flamion, and Woodcock.  Add to that Davies and Rheal and you can see why there is a buzz on the West Coast.

Nor Cal is looking forward to a busy summer highlighted by the 16U Junior Olympics and the 15U WWBA National Championships in Marietta, GA in July.
