13U Update - AAU National Baseball Tourney in Virginia Beach print email

The first round of U13 pool play at the AAU National Baseball Tourney in Virginia Beach was completed Monday afternoon, July 21.

Advancing to championship pool play by going undefeated (3-0) in their pools were Chet Lemon’s Juice of Florida, the New England Firebirds, the South Shore Seadogs of New England and the Rambler Baseball Club of New England.
 
Chet Lemon’s Juice, an honorable mention for the top 25 poll was the most impressive, outscoring its three opponents, 32-8.
 
Virginia Lightning and the Connecticut Bombers, both 2-1, won their pools in tiebreakers by identical 2-1 scores over Brooklawn Baseball of the Middle Atlantic District and Nikona USA Baseball of New England, respectively. Brooklawn and Nikona USA (both 2-1) also advanced to the championship pool by finishing second.

Also moving on to championship pool play with second place finishes were Team Connecticut, the Virginia Bruins, the Hartford Sox (New England) and the Tidewater Drillers of Virginia. Team Connecticut (1-2) advanced by virtue of a tiebreaker, after finishing in a three-way tie for second.
 
Championship and Classic Pool play both begin tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9 a.m.
