10U Majors:

In the 10u Majors Division it was the QC Devils winning their second tournament of the month when they beat the AZ Grizzlies 8-2 in the Championship.  The Devils came in as a AA team but they proved that is just a label as they finished the weekend with a 3-0 mark while outscoring their opponents 33-7!  The Devils are now 9-2 on the short season and look to get better each week!

10U AAA:

In the AAA division it was the AZ Extreme who took home 1st place honors. 10U Majors

In the 10U division the Az Dash who were sporting their pink shirts on Saturday finished the weekend with a 3-0 mark and their first Majors title!  I never got the chance to ask but I am guessing that the pink was in support of breast cancer, what an amazing gesture! The Dash beat up on the Anthem Firebirds by a score of 13-5 in the finals.  The Firebird took care of the Dirtbags in the Semi by a score of 13-5 to set up the matchup in the Championship.

10U AAA

In the AAA division it was the Arizona Grinders Gray who grinded their way to the title with three straight victories in 98 degree heat on Sunday!  The Grinders first took care of the Scottsdale Heat by a score of 8-5, they then beat the Goodyear Gators 8-2 and then handled the Stetson Hills Stealth in the Championship by scoring 16 runs to the Stealth's 8.  The Grinders finished the weekend with a 3-1-1 mark with their only blemish coming to Scottsdale Dirtbags in pool play.

After a harmless single by Jayce Easley, the Storm get out of the inning as they are down to their final three outs while trailing 6-4. Sasha Schneider is still in the hill while Nolan Ruff waits in the bullpen. Sasha gets the first out by strikeout and the Storm are down to just two outs. A groundout to Jayce Easley at Short and their are now two out. A single by #15 to right keeps the Storm alive but it is short lived as Sasha gets the K to end the game!

# 27 Wyatt Maus leads off the inning with a single to right followed by a force at two the Storm have one out and one on.  After a stolen base by #0 Grifin Mcright and a single by #4 catcher Camden Kelton of the Storm are once again threatening with one out and runners on the corners. A balk results in a run for the Storm and it is now 6-4 with a runner on two. Sasha gets two  big K's and Storm leave a runner stranded at third. Into the 6th the Warriors lead 6-4.

Tyler Woessner still on the hill faces Justin Doolittle. After a 8 pitch at bat Justin singles up the middle and the Warriors have the tying run on base.  The Storm are making a pitching change, the new pitcher is #24 lefty Hayden Sandman Jayce Easley pops out to first form the first out. A great move to first by Hayden to pick off the leaning Justin Doolittle for the second out. Gabe Rios stays hot with a single up the middle and takes second on a wild pitch. Jake Robson is walked intentionally and Grace Lyons has a chance to tie the game and does just that with a single to left to tie the game. With runners on second and third a wild pitch results in Jake Robson scoring the go ahead run.  Sasha Schneider triples down the left field line to drive in the fifth run for the Warriors and it is now 5-3. Dominick Debeireux then single to late Grace and the Warriors lead 6-3.

12u Ship The Warriors get a hit by Nolan Ruff in the inning but no more and still lead 2-0 into the bottom of 4. Tyler Woessner is throwing a gem for the Storm in this epic pitchers duel.  #5  Baren Drick just led off the inning with a screaming ground ball down third and suddenly it is a 2-1 game with nobody out. A walk and a great bunt by #4 Travis Finken and the Storm have runners at the corners with nobody out. #15 Tyler Woessner at the plate hits a rocket by in the right center field gap for a two RBI triple and the Storm lead 3-2. Sasha Schneider retires the next hitter by strikeout.  With Daniel Sotelo at the plate the Storm attempt the suicide squeeze and it back fires as the Warriors get the out of the inning.
