August 4, 2010 - Disney’s Wide World of Sports USSSA Elite 32 bracket rounds started on Tuesday afternoon. After some rain delays, day two of bracket play is set with some great matchups.
Summary of Tuesday’s Results for TBS Top 10 Ranked Teams The #1 Oakley Stingrays Black opened with a show of power as they handed the Greenville Pirates a 10-2 loss. However, the Stingrays fell 13-6 to the #6 ranked Avengers VI Force (TX) who were on a determined mission to recover from the 2 surprises losses that they had suffered earlier in this series. Next up, the 2-1 Stingrays will face the #11 ranked Mudcats of Covington, Tennessee today at noon.
The #3 ranked TEAM Miami now stands at 4-0 with wins over Baseball Heavan (FLS) and PSA Red Sox (Blue) of Flowood, MS, Tornadoes (Plainfield, IL) and the #25 ranked San Diego Owls. The Tornadoes are fresh off winning the NABF World Series. Next up, TEAM Miami will face the #7 ranked Houston Banditos Black who beat TEAM Hammer (Lakeland, FLS) in early bracket rounds yesterday.
The #5 ranked Georgia Yard Dogs Black are playing a very tough and now have a 4-0 record in this series. They beat the Avenger VI Force in their first round of bracket play late Tuesday afternoon. Next up, the face the #8 ranked Carolina Cubs of Triangle, NC who are also 4-0 and are playing exceptionally well.
In other key match ups today, the 3-1 Greenville Pirates who have had a very good series will face the (TBS HM) Orlando Tigers who have been a big surprise in this event. They are 4-0 thus far and are playing like a top 10 team.
The #9 PSA White Sox Red is also 4-0 in this series and playing really good baseball. After beating the (TBS HM) Bay Bombers of Lynn Haven, FLN they will face the 4-0 and #18 ranked Traveling Eagles of Niceville, FLN today. The Eagles beat the Detroit Metro Stars late Tuesday afternoon in their 1st round of bracket play.
Finally, the #10 ranked Bullets/Titans from the Tampa/St. Petersburg area will face the Orlando Wildcats today. The Bullets/Titans are 4-0 with wins over the San Diego Owls and the Detroit Metro Stars.
