Orlando, FL The #12 team in the United States, the East Cobb Longhorns proved themselves worthy with a big offensive display against the West Boynton Lightning in the Diamond play bracket.  One of the nation’s premiere nine year old players, Steele Chambers got the Longhorns off to an early start with a two RBI single in the first.  The Longhorns charged again in the third when #33 Nic Block crushed a RBI double to plate Chambers.  Ryan Davis followed up Block’s double with a RBI single through the left side.  Jake Smith cranked the second RBI double of the inning for the Longhorns giving them an 8-3 lead.  The Longhorns continued to be relentless at the plate, Nic Block, Ryan Davis, and Jordan Wilkre all came through with big RBI hits in the fourth.  Chambers, Smith, and Block all ended up going 2 for 3 at the dish which gave all three of them two RBI on the day as well.  Despite these great performances the Longhorns were lead by Ryan Davis’ perfect 3 for 3 day including his big RBI double in the fourth inning.  The Lightning just could not seem to get their bats started, only managing to reach base three times on hits.  Kyle Kramer tallied up two of the Lightning’s three hits, both singles, and Kramer also picked up a RBI in the third off of a fielder’s choice to the second baseman.  This one ended up a little one sided with the East Cobb Longhorns on top 11-5.
