The Northwest Indiana Shockers recently completed a highly successful inaugural 2010 campaign with a fourth place finish at the CABA World Series, suffering a key loss at the hands of the TBS #5 ranked and eventual champion Georgia Roadrunners 5-3 in a hotly contested game. The squad finished with a 64-9-2 mark while competing in many top tournaments throughout the Midwest including the LIDS Best of the Midwest, the Naperville, IL Firecracker Classic and the Champaign, IL Blue & Orange Classic, each of which resulted in tournament championships, and the Cincinnati Flames Classic where they battled some of the Nation’s best in pool play and bracket play prior to elimination at the hands of the TBS #8 Houston Lightning by a 7-5 margin.

The Shockers boasted a top notch pitching staff as well led by Huttel (17-3, 104K, 102 IP), Sam Bell (10-2, 78K, 70 IP), Jake Perreira (6-0, .65 ERA), and Kapers (7-1). In addition to former Redbird returnee Nick Fromm, newcomers Jake Koselke, Riley Welch, Daniel Balich and Perreira played instrumental roles, both with their bats and their gloves, in leading the Shockers to their highly successful season on which they hope to build in 2011. Plans are already underway with open tryouts scheduled for early August.
TBS will follow the Shockers during their 2011 campaign and is looking forward to watching this program progress towards elite status on the national level.
