Westfield, IN- The Prospects and Heat met up in the loser’s bracket of the CABA World Series. The winner would advance to the championship game against a very good Mac N Seitz squad to duel it out for an eventual champion. The Prospects were thinking all championship game as they scored run after run in the early part of this match up to take the contest 10-2.
It was the Heat who got out in front of this one first putting up two runs in the first. Alex Dunaway and Iane Flamm got the rally started battling and reaching base on walks. A couple of batters later, Trey Smith would clean the bases up with a two run single to give the Heat an early 2-0 lead. In the bottom half the Prospects went to work crossing eight base runners. Jacob Blount got the first RBI’s of the game when he stepped up and delivered a two run double to tie it all up. The next hitter Michael Roat would do the same knocking in Blount to take it to 3-2 Prospects. From there Jared Trivette, Evan Tenuta, and Kyle Knodel contributed RBI hits to bring it to 8-2 after one complete. In the second the Prospects added two more runs bringing the total to 10-2 where it would end. With the win the Prospects advanced to the championship game against a very good Mac N Seitz Indians squad.
Winning pitcher in the game was Evan Tenuta who pitched two great innings giving up only two hits. Blount came on after that and closed the door to get the win. Leading hitters were Jacob Blount (2-3), Ryan Kaup (2-3), and Anthony Lullo (1-2).
