By ParkSelectWriter, Brad Jackson Westfield, IN- The Florence Storm and Palos Stampede met up in bracket play of the CABA World Series on Tuesday. Pressure was on as the loser got packing and was sent home. The Storm came out and put up some runs early in the contest to live another day and take the game 5-2. The Storm got it started early sending three men across the dish. Jacob Reynolds did most the damage as he laced a two run single to the left side. He would later be driven in on a fielder’s choice hailing from the bat of Sterling Hamilton who did a great job of hitting to make sure he drove in the tack on run to go up 3-0. In the second, The Storm would add one more as Adam Seal provided a fielder’s choice that sent Ashton Yob across the dish to bring it to 4-0. The final run for the Storm was added in the third when again Sterling did a nice job of hitting and put it where his teammate Jacob Reynolds could score to make it 5-0. The Stampede tried to fight back in the sixth and final inning crossing two base runners on a Nick Zimmer single to cut it at 5-2 where it would end. Brennan Baker got the win for the Storm on the bump going five complete innings and giving up only one run while striking out one. He was relieved by Alex Kennedy who got the save. Leading hitters in the contest were Ben Rhine (2-3) and Jacob Reynolds (2-3).
