Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex, FL    There was a little confusion at the start of the Legends, Miami Cardinal game here today. Legends were the higher seed but the Cardinals were on the field to start the game, meaning they were the home team. Surely there was a mistake and the umpire told the Cardinals that Legends were the home team. Legends coach Steve Beach, assured the umpire that the Cardinals were the home team as the Legends chose to hit first.

 

“We like to make teams chase from the beginning. There is nothing harder than being down 4-5 runs before you get to bat.” That strategy seemed to work well as Legends scored early and often en route to a 12-1 victory.

 

Steven Beach, Zac Malvasio and TJ Ben all took the mound in the four inning affair. “It’s a luxury to have a comfortable lead and not have to use pitching. Pitching is so important at this event.”

 

Ben was also 2-2 at the plate, including a mammoth HR that easily cleared the 250’ fence in left center. Jordan Keller was 3-3 with a double.
