10U AAU National Championships Championship - Team Florida vs. Houston Wranglers

Team Florida and the Houston Wranglers drew each other in the finals at the AAU National Championships. It would be all Team Florida in this one as their offense was matched with a superb pitching performance to take the game 10-3.

Orlando, FL Team Florida did not hesitate scoring and put up two in the first when Austin Mitchell singled home Gunner Hogland and Huey Morrill. In the second the Florida bunch put up three more runs as Jordan Lala produced a three run triple to notch it at 5-0. The third saw Florida continue to hit the ball and score runs as they crossed three more base runners. Johnny Olivera tallied up an RBI double in the inning to place it at 8-0. The Wranglers eventually erased the goose egg in the fourth when Hunter Mejerriti got an RBI single to cut the lead at 8-1. Jordan Lala would again score in the fourth for Florida to take it to 9-1 and one more insurance run in the sixth to take it to 10-1. With a little fight still left in them the Wranglers managed to add two more runs in the sixth before the game ended at 10-3.

Winning pitcher in the championship game was Johnny Olivera who went four strong innings. Johnny gave up one run on three hits striking out three. He was relieved by Jordan Lala who got the save. Leading hitters for Team Florida were Johnny Olivera (2-3) and Huey Morrill (1-3).
