AAU National Championships - 10U Bracket Play Quarterfinals (Diamond) - #12 Lumberjacks (CA) vs. Central Florida Legends Print E-mail

The Lumberjacks out of California drew the Central Florida Legends in bracket play of the AAU National Championships. It was all Lumberjacks in this contest as the boys from Cali brought the sticks to the contest downing the Legends 14-4.

 

The Lumberjacks jumped on the Legends early scoring one in the first as Ezelle Vicks crossed on a sac fly. In the third the Lumberjacks added four more to the total bringing it to 5-0. Ryan May, Austin Maciel, Kevin Ledesmas, and Noah Sheets all added RBI hits to the mix. In the bottom of the third the Legends would get their four runs of the day cutting the lead to 5-4. Jason Jackel and Nolan Tudar each contributed RBI hits to the attack that scored Mike Edderup and Kevin Tomas. In the fourth the Lumberjacks opened it up scoring six runs to extend their lead to11-4. Vicks, Sheets, May, Maciel, and Ledesmas continued to pound the ball and each had RBI hits in the inning. Three more crossed in the sixth where the game would end at 14-4 on mercy rule.

 

Winning pitcher in the game was Andres Aleyenez and he pitched a good three innings giving up only four runs. His counterpart Ezelle Vicks came in and got the save. The whole explosive Lumberjack squad contributed with timely hits as they moved one step closer to a national title in Orlando, FL.
