The Wranglers came out swinging the bats early in this contest taking the game by a score of 9-8. With the win the Wranglers moved one step closer in bracket play to earning the title AAU National Champions.
It would be the Wranglers that jumped out ahead of the Gators early in the game. Cole Hammer battled at the plate and reached on a walk to start the rally. Shane Boz would do the same and both would be driven in on an infield error to take the lead at 2-0. Logan Swann and James Webster would also contribute RBI hits in the inning. In the second, the Gators would get on the board. Sean Osceola was the first base runner to cross on his home run cutting the lead to 4-1. The Wranglers would continue to tack on runs and in the second crossed three more. Boz and Will Mercer added RBI’s to their day in the inning taking it to 7-1. In the third the Gators added their final two runs when Andre James and Jacob Fitts crossed on a fielder’s choice and a single hailing from Zach Rogers notching it at 7-3. And in the fifth the Wranglers put the game out of hand scoring two more runs to take it to 9-3 where it would end. James Webster and Logan Swann would each get RBI hits in the inning.
Winning pitcher in the game was Peter Geib who went the distance for the Wranglers. Peter gave up only three runs on three hits striking out nine Gators. Leading hitters for the Wranglers were Shane Boz (2-3), Owen Meaney (3-3), James Webster (2-3), and Logan Swann (3-3).
