Orlando, FL The Tampa Bay Bulls drew the Aqua Sox in pool play at the AAU National Championships. Both teams brought the sticks to the contest but the AquaSox would fall a little short by a score of 13-8.
The Bulls would go on to tack on some early runs in the first crossing three base runners to jump start the game. Javier Baldor and Jimmie Emslee would each contribute RBI hits in the inning. In the bottom half the Aqua Sox would try to match that by crossing two men of their own. Blake Anderson would get the credit for the RBI’s when he knocked a home run. In the second the Aqua Sox would tie it up at three scoring Logan McGuffie on a fielder’s choice putting it at 3-3. Javier Baldor would gain the lead for the Bulls in the third crossing on the Bull’s fielder’s choice. The Sox answered back as they did all game crossing Jessie Sherri on a infield error to tie it up again this time at 4-4. The Bulls kept hitting the ball well and would score seven runs in the fourth. Tommy Mallif and Cal Macanich would contribute RBI singles in the inning. In the bottom half the Sox four more runs cutting the lead to 11-8. Blake Anderson and Mason Land added RBI hits to the total. The Bulls would go on to add two more runs from there putting it at 13-8 where it would end.
Winning pitcher in the match up was Chase Campolong who pitched four good innings. Javier Baldor came on in relief for two innings to get the save. Leading hitters in the contest were Javier Baldor (3-4) and Orlando Arvella (2-4). Despite the loss Jesse Sherri (2-4), Logan Blackmon (1-2), and Blake Anderson (2-3 HR) were major contributors for the Aqua Sox.
