1. Team Mizuno Glory (FL) – A third place finish in Disney keeps this team atop of the post season rankings. Went a remarkable 32-1 at the 9U level. The only loss was in the semi-finals to #2 Charlotte Megastars. One of many talented teams that have committed to the Michigan Major Elite next June.
2. Charlotte Megastars (NC) – In our last rankings we said that this team was gaining the respect of other 9U coaches and that respect is at an all time high after knocking of #1 Mizuno Glory and winning the Elite 32.
3. Strike Force (TX) – Team remained hot in Mickeyland by getting big wins over #4 MSA Black and #7 Cincy Flames on their way to a 2nd place finish.
4. MSA Black (MI) – This team from the north opened a lot of eyes with a fourth place finish. Number one pitcher only threw three innings at Disney due to sore arm or MSA might have played in finals.
5. Team Phenom (CA) – Not playing in the big events dropped Phenom to #5. They realize they need to “beef up” the schedule in 2010 and will look to do that by playing in the Michigan Major Elite in June.
6. Banditos Black (TX) – Say what you want about Ray Deleon, but he puts his kids in position for a national title every year. Both losses at Disney came to #2 Charlotte Megastars.
7. Cincy Flames (OH) – This team won the CABA 9U national title in Chicago and then hopped on a plane and competed in the Elite 32. I am sure there were some tired boys that headed back to Cincy after a fifth place finish at Disney. Another top level team that will be playing in Michigan in June.
8. So Cal Outlaws (CA) – Winner of the Triple Crown World Series in Steamboat puts this team in the rankings for the first time this year. Will also strengthen their schedule with a trip to Michigan for the Michigan Major Elite in June.
9. Florida Pokers (FL) – This team would be higher if they could figure out a way to beat #1 Mizuno Glory. They were 0-3 against the Glory including the loss that ended their Disney run. Will look to redeem themselves at the Michigan Major Elite in June.
10. Dairy Queen Crushers (AR) – A pre-tourney favorite in Disney, the Crushers made an unexpected early exit. Look for this team to rebound in 2010.
11. Pensacola Aquasox (FL) – Was one game away from the semi-finals in Disney. One of four teams from Florida in our rankings.
12. East Cobb Braves (GA) – The Georgia state champs keeps a strong hold on the top 20. Would like to have seen this team at the Elite 32.
13. Elite Gamers Red (GA) – Finishing in the top 20 rankings will give these guys some momentum heading in to 2010.
14. GP Horns (TX) – Will finally get a chance to see this team face off with other top ranked teams at the Michigan Major Elite in 2010.
15. Bounty Hunters (AL) – This team cracks the rankings with six tournament wins, including a state title.
16. Mid South Ducks (OK) – The biggest surprise in Disney. Lost by two runs to #4 MSA Black and by a single run to #11 Aquasox.
17. West Florida Young Guns (FL) – Winner of the AAU Nationals.
