14U- Elite 32 World Series (FL)- #9 NVTBL Stars vs. HM South Farmington Blues |

This game was a rematch of two teams that had played earlier in the week and the Stars dominated. In that game, the Blues could never get it together when they took the field as the home team at Disney’s Cracker Jack Stadium. First, the pitching wasn’t as sharp as the Blues gave eight free passes in the first three innings alone and when they did make a pitch, the fielding faltered with 4 errors. The Blues had to go through three pitchers in the first three innings which accounted for the 13 runs scored by the Stars to make this game a route.
Whereas the pitching was struggling for the Blues, the Stars’ pitcher, Thomas Rogers, was magnificent. Rogers, a southpaw, mixed up his pitches nicely and kept the ball around the plate but nothing ‘fat’. As a result he worked five innings only allowing a two runs on a couple of hits. He struck out six and only walked two batters as the Stars mercy-ruled the Blues in five.
The Blues wanted to redeem themselves and came out swinging and put two early runs up on the board due to a double by TBS Player to Watch #16 Conner Mohr who was eventually knocked in by #2 Harrison Henson. Another run would score on a fielder’s choice groundout to first. In the bottom of the inning, #7 Texas Williams would lead off the inning with a single up the middle, then Blues pitcher Tom Eng would walk in two runs to make it even at two.
In the 4th and fifth inning the Stars would add five runs highlighted by Thomas Rodgers who knocked in two of the five.
In the fifth the Blues got a couple men on base and looked to threaten but the Stars brought in Alan Mocahbee to close out the inning and the game and he did just that.
NVTBL Stars were not challenged much in bracket play and should be rested as they move on to the semis. The Farmington Blues exit Disney with a since of accomplishment as they proved they deserve to be one of the top 20 teams in the nation.
