14U- Battle in the South (TN)- Semi-Final Results Print E-mail

For three innings, the semi-final game between the NVTBL Stars and the TBS #19 ranked Indiana Prospects was a real nail-biter. But in the last two innings, the Stars out-scored the Prospects 10-1 to take a 12-2 win en route to the Battle In The South 14U Finals.

The Stars started off the game with an RBI double from Andy Mocahbee and a RBI single from Thomas Rogers. But in the bottom of the first inning, Indiana got on the board with an RBI single from Cody Hobbs.

All was quiet until the top of the fourth when the Stars scored six runs. The Stars scored their runs off of an Alan Mocahbee RBI single, a 2-RBI triple from Jackson Rogers, an RBI triple from Conor Sullivan, a base-runner stealing home and a forced run to make the score 8-1 going into the top of the fifth. The top of the fifth saw a 2-RBI double from Alan Mocahbee, an RBI triple from Conor Sullivan, and an RBI single from Denathan Dukes.

Indiana got a run in the bottom of the fifth inning off of a Mike Hammel RBI single, but it would be all the Prospects could come up with as they fell 12-2. The Stars were led at the plate by Andy Mocahbee (3-2, 2 2B, 1 RBI), Thomas Rogers (3-3, 1 RBI), Connor Sullivan (2-3, 2 3B, 2 RBI's), Alan Mocahbee (2-4, 1 2B, 3 RBI's), and Denathan Dukes (2-3, 1 RBI). Dan Powers (4 innings, 2 strikeouts, 2 walked batters, 5 hits, 2 runs) was the winning pitcher for the Stars.

The Prospects got extra base hits from Jordan Touro (1-2) and Nolan Rogers (3 innings, 2 strikeouts, 1 walk, 7 hits and 4 runs) was tallied with the loss.
