The TBS #3 ranked East Cobb Astros continued their dominance in the 14U Battle In The South tournament, winning their round of 16 game against the Panthers Baseball Club by an 11-0 margin. In the bottom of the first inning, the Astros got three runs on the board, courtesy of two sacrifice RBI's from Nicholas High and Tyler Graham respectively plus a walk-in RBI.
All was quiet until the third inning when East Cobb got their mojo working, offensively. Tyler Graham had an RBI single, Nicholas High got an RBI off of an error. Anthony Sterling had a 2 RBI single and Hunter Angland had a 2 RBI triple to push the lead to 9-0. East Cobb put the icing on their victory cake in the form of a two-run inside the park home run by Brandon Whiteford to take the 11-0 victory.
East Cobb was led at the plate by Tyler Graham (1-2, 2 RBI's), David Mayo (1-1), Anthony Sterling (1-2, 2 RBI's), Hunter Angland (1-2, 1 3B, 2 RBI's), Connor Justice (1-1), and Brandon Whiteford (1-1, 1 inside-the-park HR, 2 RBI's). Angland (3 2/3 innings, 4 K's, 1 walk, 1 hit) got credit for the win.
The Panthers got their hits from Nick Boswell (1-2) and Nick Scohfield (1-2, 1 2B) and Jackson Bellenkes (3 innings, 1 strikeout, 4 walks, 5 hits, 9 runs) was tallied with the loss.
