The Panthers win a wild one against the Kennesaw Mustangs
The Louisville Panthers pulled out a wild win against the Kennesaw Mustangs at the 14U Atlanta Super NIT on Saturday. The Mustangs were leading the entire game until the last inning, when the Panthers scored five runs in the 6th to take the game 9-8.
The Mustangs bats were hot early in the game when Devin Hamilton scored on a Michael Leseman single to left field. Hamilton struck again in the bottom of the 2nd inning with a two out, two RBI double to left field.
The Panthers would strike back with a Miles Bland single that brought in Jonah Liebman. The Mustangs then answered back with five runs of their own off of Panther reliever Brandon Pittman.
Here is where the game turned interesting, after five innings the Mustangs led the Panthers 8-4. The umpires called the game due to time and the Mustangs and Panthers were meeting at home plate to high five and congratulate one another on a good game. The umpires, however, found out that there was still time and told the coaches and players to resume the game. The Mustangs were the first to bat after the mix up, they left one runner on base and headed into the bottom of the 6th up 8-4.
The Panthers would score five runs in the inning. They led off the inning with three back to back to back singles and scored the final two runs on bases loaded walks.
