He has come a long way from Brooklyn, New York where he was born but now Travis Demeritte plays the game he loves in Marietta, Georgia with the East Cobb Astros. Travis was born September 30th, 1994. He lives with his parents Trent Demeritte and Felecia Rogers and has five brothers. Travis wears #25 and plays shortstop, pitcher, and outfield for the TravelBallSelect #3 ranked East Cobb Astros. At 6’0 and 150 lbs. Travis can pick it at short, run it down in center and bring it on the mound. He didn’t have a nickname when asked, so his teammates came up with one on the spot nicknaming him “TD.” We met up with Travis and asked him a few intriguing questions and here’s what he said: “Here, at the East Cobb Baseball Complex,” Demeritte’s answer when asked where is his favorite place to play. “TD” says his favorite position is shortstop because he’s most comfortable there. His favorite MLB player is Alex Rodriguez because simply, “he’s the best!” Travis also thinks A-Rod’s team is the best, saying the New York Yankees are his favorite team. His favorite food is lemon pepper wings that his mom is famous for. The ever so popular “Step Brothers” film is Travis’ favorite movie. I wonder if he and his teammate Josh Hart, who also said it was his favorite movie, watch it together before a big game. When Travis isn’t swiping bags and striking out hitters or watching Step Brothers, he likes to workout, run and play basketball. “Our rival team has to be the East Cobb Titans” Travis stated. When asked his best asset to the team, “TD” responded with one word, Leadership. TravelBallSelect is thankful to have had the opportunity to visit with Travis and wish him and his Astros teammates the best this season. And the next time you see Travis at the park, tell him that you read about “TD” on TBS.
