Hello, loyal TravelBallSelect.com readers. I would like for you to meet 2008 TBS All-American Ryan Spaulding of the Indiana Prospects, also known as "Deuce". Ryan was born on May 17th, 1994 to Roger and Laura Spaulding. Ryan  currently lives in Converse, Indiana with his parents and younger sister Renee. Ryan plays middle infield and pitcher for the TBS #19 ranked Indiana Prospects and played for his high school baseball team at Oak Hill High School in his hometown. “Duece” stands 5'10" and weighs 150 pounds.

TBS met up with Ryan and asked him some questions and here’s what he had to tell us:

His favorite MLB player is Derek Jeter because of “his hustle and leadership on the field.” “Duece” likes Mexican food, especially taco salad. His favorite movie is the Disney inspirational film "Remember the Titans". His favorite MLB team is the New York Yankees. When he's not playing baseball Ryan likes to play basketball. Ryan believes his rival team in travel ball is the TBS #12 ranked Hanover Heat from Virginia. “Duece” feels that his best asset to the team is “his leadership and determination.” To date, his most memorable baseball moment was finishing 5th at the Elite Baseball Classic in 2008. His mother is his biggest fan because “she's always cheering for me and is very supportive of me.” He uses the TPX brand of bat, which is a popular choice among most hitters in travel ball. Where does Ryan see himself in five years? “I see myself hopefully playing college baseball in five years.” His favorite college team is the University of Louisville Cardinals, the Cardinals will be lucky to get a ball player like Ryan in five years. Where does Ryan get all of his athletic ability? “I feel like I get my athletic ability from my dad.”

TravelBallSelect is thankful to have had the opportunity to visit with Ryan and wish him and his Prospects teammates the best this season.  And the next time you see Ryan at the park, tell him that you read about “Duece” on TBS.
