A 2008 2nd Team TBS All-American Jackson “Jack” Stephens led his Rocket City Stingers team a year ago to a #2 TBS ranking. Stephens has led his new team, Team Alabama, to a #4 TBS ranking in 2009. Jackson Stephens lives in Oxford, Alabama with his parents Jay and Tara Stephens. Jackson has one brother Jayson (20). Jack pitches and plays third base for Team Alabama and his high school, Oxford High School in Alabama. At 6’2 and 175 lbs, Jack is a beast on the mound and at the plate. Last year he hit 10 homeruns, 10 doubles and 68 RBIs to go along with 29 walks and only 12 strikeouts. On the mound Jack dominated with an 8-2 record while posting a miniscule 2.23 ERA.

Here’s what Jack had to say when asked a few questions from TBS:

Jack’s favorite position is pitcher because “he feels he has control of the game.” If there is one field he would like to pitch at all the time, it would be on the mounds of the East Cobb Complex in Marietta, GA. Jack’s favorite MLB player is David Wright because “he plays great defense, he hits with power and he shows great leadership on and off the field.” His favorite MLB team however, is the Boston Red Sox. Jack’s favorite food is a T-Bone steak that his father grills to perfection and his favorite movie is Batman: The Dark Knight. Jack likes to play ping pong with his friends in his time away from the diamond. Jack’s best subject in school is History. During the games Jack chooses Gatorade over water and gum over sunflower seeds. Jack’s best asset to his team is his “positive attitude and leadership abilities.”

TravelBallSelect is thankful to have had the opportunity to visit with Jackson and wish him and his #4 ranked Team Alabama teammates the best this season. And the next time you see Jackson at the ball park, tell him that you read about “Jack” on TBS.
