Which 2008 TBS First-Team All American is nicknamed “Big Tuna”? You guessed it, none other than, Kyle Pinson, Banditos Black power hitting phenomenon. The “Big Tuna” was born August 10th, 1995 to David and Laura Pinson. Kyle lives with his brother Christian and parents in Tomball, Texas. Kyle led his Banditos team to a #2 TBS ranking last year as 12U and has led the 13U Banditos to a #3 TBS ranking in 2009. Kyle plays 1st base, outfield, catcher and pitcher for the Banditos. At 5’9” and 190 lbs, Kyle is a beast at the plate, last year alone the “Big Tuna” hit .498 BA with 31 homeruns, 26 doubles and 124 RBIs. Kyle was awarded the “Offensive Player of the Year” in the Banditos Organization located in Houston, Texas. We met up with Kyle and asked him some fun questions and here’s what he had to say: Pinson’s favorite position to play is first base because “you are involved in almost every play.” Kyle emulates his favorite MLB player’s game, Ryan Howard, because “he is a great first baseman and a great team player.” Pinson roots for the Tampa Bay Rays, last year’s American League Champs. Kyle’s favorite food is Caesar salad, his favorite movie is “Hoosiers” and his favorite subjects in school are P.E. and lunch. Kyle’s favorite places to play are the Big League Dreams fields located in Southern California. When the “Big Tuna” isn’t hitting homeruns over the walls of Big League Dreams fields, he likes to hang out with his friends and play other sports. Pinson says the American Avengers are the Banditos Black rival team. Pinson’s best asset to his team is without a doubt his hitting abilities. TravelBallSelect is thankful to have had the opportunity to visit with Kyle and wish him and his Banditos teammates luck this season. And the next time you see Kyle at the park, tell him that you read about the “Big Tuna” on TBS.
