In 2008 Jacob Barfield was known as the “Pitcher of the Year” at the 12U age group in the state of Texas earning him a 1st Team TBS All-American spot. It’s time to dive in to the life of Jacob Barfield. Jacob was born September 15th, 1995 to Eric and Samantha Barfield. Jacob has two brothers Joseph (10) and Jaden (3), the Barfield family currently resides in Pearland, Texas. Jacob’s nickname is “Big Daddy Bar” standing 5’10 and weighing 175 lbs. his nickname seems to fit him perfectly. In 2008, Jacob played 1st base, 3rd base and pitcher for the American Avengers, this year the BLBA Texas Stampede will use his talents to compete in every tournament they enter. What are the Stampede getting you might ask? How about 30 homeruns, 80 RBIs, 30 stolen bases, .580 hitter, on top of all that, he is also considered one of the top pitchers in the 13U age group.

We asked Jacob a few questions and here’s what he had to say to TBS:

Jacob’s favorite position to play is third base because “it’s the hot corner.” His favorite MLB player’s are Josh and Jesse Barfield, “first of all they are family and Jesse was known as having a tremendous right field arm and hit great. Josh gives 110% no matter what; win, lose, hurt or healthy. His favorite MLB team is the Milwaukee Brewers. Jacob is also a standout on the court and the gridiron as he excels in basketball and football player. Jacob’s favorite food is Chicken Parmesan and his favorite movie is the football movie “Friday Night Lights.” His favorite baseball field to play on is Field #3 the Cooperstown Championship Field in New York. When Jacob’s not on the baseball field you can find him listening to music, hanging out with friends and watching baseball. Jacob says the Stampede’s “rival team” is the Banditos Black baseball club. Jacob’s best asset to the Stampede squad is his “leadership on the field and his attitude.”

TravelBallSelect is thankful to have had the opportunity to visit with Jacob and wish him and his team the best this season. And the next time you see Jacob at the park, tell him that you read about the “Big Daddy Bar” on TBS.
