Dash Winningham is a six-foot one-hundred and ninety-five pound first baseman filled with raw power and baseball strength. Winningham had a .470 batting average at the plate last year, while going a remarkable 23-4 on the mound. These numbers earned Winningham a spot on the 2008 TravelBallSelect All-American Team. It’s no wonder the word “winning” just happens to be in his last name. Dash was born on October 11th, 1995 to Greg and Terri Winningham. “Dashito” the nickname given to Dash by his teammates, currently lives in Ocala, Florida with his three siblings Moose, Kris, and Brandon. Dash looks up to his older brother Moose for baseball guidance, Moose is a standout ball player on the 16U Apopka Black Sox. “Dashito” played for the TBS No. 20 ranked PPO Red Dogs in 2009 and traveled to the Elite 32 with the TBS No. 18 ranked SF Extreme. Dash is a stud left-handed pitcher, standout first baseman, and solid right fielder.

We met up with Dash at the 2009 Elite 32 World Series and here’s what he had to tell the TBS Fans:

“My favorite Major League Baseball Player is Albert Pujols because he’s one of the most feared hitters in the majors. He stays so relaxed and confident at the plate.” The Tampa Bay Rays is Dash’s favorite Major League Baseball Team. Winningham’s favorite food is steak and his favorite movie is “Friday Night Lights”. When “Dashito” isn’t striking out his opponents or crushing homeruns, he likes to go bowling, play basketball and be a role model for younger players. “Dashito” uses the DeMarini Vexxum and CF3 Black brand of bats to reach his .470 batting average.  “Our rival team is the TBS No. 10 ranked Florida Flash because they are a good team and everytime we play each other it turns out to be a very competitive game.” Winningham says his best assets to his team are his sportsmanship and his leadership. “My most memorable moment in baseball had to be when I pitched the Championship Game in Cooperstown week 3 2008 and won 5-3 against the Germantown Giants. Dash’s favorite college team is the Florida Gators and his five year plan includes himself attending the University of Florida getting a great education and playing baseball for the Gators.

TravelBallSelect is thankful to have had the opportunity to visit with Dash and wish him and his Red Dogs the best next season. And the next time you see Dash at the park, tell him that you read about “Dashito” on TBS.
