2009 13U West Boynton Wolverines (FL)

The West Boynton Wolverines baseball team will be competing in their fourth year together in 2009. In 2008 the Wolverines went 87-16, winning five tournaments. The most memorable moment was winning the championship in July (week #8) at Cooperstown Dream Park while competing against 95 other 12U teams.

The 2008 season was a success and one in which the Wolverines plan to build upon. The returning players from last year include: Andy Mitchell, Jerrod Fusco, Nick Preite, Richard Lipinski, Landon Myers, Jerry Cooper, Gabe Morey, Mitchell Goldhaber, Jacob Aqua, Erik Roginski, Scott Murphy and Gabe Santana. The Wolverines have added three key additions to the 2009roster including: Chris Ruiz, Branden Cook, and Johnathan Nieves. The Wolverines pride themselves on playing the game of baseball the "right way." The Wolverine roster is filled with scrappy players who play with a "never say die attitude." They have a very deep pitching staff and have explosive weapons up and down the line up. The Wolverines are managed by Kayne Mitchell and the coaches are Rich Fusco and Todd Morey.

The Wolverines have already started their 13U season with a bang by recording 31 wins out of 33 games played. This fall they have 3 tournament championship trophies to add to their collection. The Wolverines are not done for the year as they have scheduled to play in the Thanksgiving Day Tournament in Jupiter, Florida. Other big events on their schedule include the USSSA/ASA World Series in Miami, the Super NIT in South Florida and the Cal Ripken Tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC. With a 31-2 record and three tournament wins already under their 13U belt, this Wolverines team is getting the experience and reps to build a chemistry like no other team.
