12U Cooperstown NATC "Elite 8" Results PDF Print E-mail

August 27, 2009 Cooperstown Dreams Park – the “Elite 8” rounds play of NATC week has now concluded and the “Final 4” matchups are set.

Here is a quick run down of how the “Elite 8” teams fared and how the “Final 4” matches were determined.

#1 Seed - The Tri State Arsenal (NJ) slammed the #9 seed So Cal Mavericks by a 20-2 margin.  The Mavericks Swarts hit a homerun to lead the Mavs scoring. But, Tri State’s offense what just too potent as Justin Hugenmanhit lead with a solo and then added a 3 run homer. Ryan Shinn and Carter Fichter each added a 3xRBI homerun to move Tri-State into the “Final 4” where they will face the #5 seed United States Baseball Stars (MI).

#2 Seed - Team Anderson (CA) fell to the #10 seed So Cal Outlaws (CA) by a score of 12-5.

#3 Seed - So Cal Thunder (CA) beat the #14 seed Eastern Massachusetts All Stars (MA) by a score of 12-0 to advance to today’s “Final 4” where they will face the #10 seed So Cal Outlaws (CA).  In today’s game, the Thunder’s Teddy Smith hit two 2run HR's; Bryce Felnel & Chase Sisco each hit a 2 run homer.  The Thunder will face the #10 seed So Cal Outlaws in today’s “Final 4” match ups.

#4 Seed - California Lumberjacks (CA) were eliminated by the #5 seed United States Baseball Stars (MI).

#5 Seed - United States Baseball Stars (MI) beat a tough #4 seed California Lumberjacks (CA) by a score of 8-2.  The Lumberjacks got homeruns Drew Natividad and Alan Trejo.  But the Stars got outstanding pitching from Tyler Ward who went the distance with 9 strikeouts. Ronnie Murphy and Brandon Jonas each hit 2 homeruns while Garret steins also added a homerun.  Next up, the Stars will face the #1 seed Tri State Arsenal (NJ) in a match up where the prize will be a trip to tonight’s Championship game.

#6 Seed -
Maryland Baseball Academy (MD) fell to the #3 seed So Cal Thunder (CA).

#9 Seed –
So Cal Mavericks (CA) were ran out of steam as they were eliminated by the #1 seed Tri State Arsenal by a score of 20-2.

#10 Seed - So Cal Outlaws (CA) beat the #2 seed Team Anderson (CA) by a score of 12-5.  In this game, Team Anderson’s Jonathan Valenzula lead with a solo homerun that was followed up with a 3xRBI homerun from Andre Riveroy.  But the Outlaws proved too much to handle as Mauricio Guadarrama hit 2 homeruns, while Freddy Gomez, Adam Santana, and David Banuelos each hit a homerun to push his team into the “Final 4” where they will face the #3 seed So Cal Thunder (CA).

#11 Seed - Eastern Massachusetts All Stars (MA) fell to the #3 seed So Cal Thunder (CA) by a score of 12-0.
