12U Cooperstown NATC Bracket Play Results PDF Print E-mail

August 27, 2009 Cooperstown Dreams Park – the first full day of NATC week of bracket play has now been completed as this event moves into the “Sweet 16” rounds of play starting at 9:00AM this morning. 

Here is a quick run down of how the top 16 seeded teams fared.

#1 Seed - The Tri State Arsenal (NJ) continued their power hitting as they slammed past #32 New York Panthers (NY) by a score of 23-1.  Tri State will open Thursday’s “Sweet 16” play against the #17 seed South Jersey Young Guns (NJ).

#2 Seed - Team Anderson (CA) shut the door on #31 Santa Ynez Warriors (CA) in a 12-0 shutout win to advance to play #18 seed Team Worth Florida (FL) when play resumes on Thursday.

#3 Seed - So Cal Thunder (CA) beat the #30 Blue Wave (CA) 10-3.  Next up, they will face the #14 seed Westchester Clippers (NY).

#4 Seed - California Lumberjacks (CA) sailed past #65 Jackson Thunder (NJ) by a score of 16-1 to move on to face a scrappy #65 Richmond Hit Dogs (VA).  The Hit Dogs upset the #13 seed Hamlin Park Lions (IL) by a score of 11-8 to earn the right to advance to the “Sweet 16” rounds.

#5 Seed - United States Baseball Stars (MI) outlasted the #28 Los Alamitos Sluggers (CA) by a score of 9-6.  The Stars advance to face a tough #12 seed Middletown Warriors (NJ) when “Sweet 16” play opens on Thursday morning.

#6 Seed -
Maryland Baseball Academy (MD) beat the #38 Andover Warriors (MA) by a score of 13-1.  Next up, the will face the #11 seed Eastern Massachusetts All Stars (MA).


#7 Seed -
Swansea Cobras (MA) were shutdown by a tough #26 LI Spartans (NY) who choked the bite out of the Cobras by a score of 3-0.  This upset win propelled the Spartans into the “Sweet 16” where they will face the #10 seed So Cal Outlaws.

#8 Seed - Corona Heat (CA) sailed past a solid #25 Buffalo Wings (NY) by a score of 15-3.  Next up, the Heat will face the #9 seed So Cal Mavericks (CA).

#9 Seed - So Cal Mavericks (CA) outscored #24 River City Rapids (VA) 17-11 to advance to their matchup against the #8 seed Corona Heat (CA).

#10 Seed - So Cal Outlaws (CA) beat #42 South Jersey Titans (NJ) 10-4 to advance to the “Sweet 16” rounds where they will face the upset minded #26 LI Spartans (NY).

#11 Seed - Eastern Massachusetts All Stars (MA) shutout the #22 House of Hardball Hitmen (CA) by a score of 12-0 to advance to play the #6 seed Maryland Baseball Academy.

#12 Seed - Middletown Warriors Baseball (NJ) beat a solid #21 Blue Sox of Stamford, CT by a score of 10-2.  Next up, the Warriors will face the #5 seed United States Baseball Stars (MI).

#13 Seed - Hamlin Park Lions (IL) were upset by a very scrappy #56 Richmond Hit Dogs (VA) who surprised the Lions by an 11-6 margin.  This win earned the Hit Dogs the right to play the #4 seed California Lumberjacks (CA) in the “Sweet 16”. 

#14 Seed - Westchester Clippers (NY) survived a very solid #19 Macomb Mudhens (MI) team as they edged past with a 10-9 win.  The Clippers will face the #3 seed So Cal Thunder (CA) in the “Sweet 16” rounds on Thursday morning.

#15 Seed - SRI Mustangs (RI) were upset by the surprisingly tough #51 ANCA Nationals (MI).  ANCA moved on the final 32 rounds on Wednesday night where they were finally tamed 7-1 by the #18 Team Worth Florida (FL).  Team Worth advanced to face #2 seed Team Anderson (CA) when play resumes on Thursday morning.

#16 Seed - Blackstone Valley Thunder (MA) took advantage of a homerun by Austin Young to edge past the #49 White Plains Wildcats (NY) by a score of 6-4.  The Thunder moved on to face a tough #17 South Jersey Young Guns (NJ) late Wednesday evening.  In this game, the Thunder was upset 3-1 by the determined and scrappy Young Guns.  The Young Guns will face the explosive #1 seed Tri State Arsenal (NJ) in the “Sweet 16” round that gets underway early Thursday morning.
