A 2008 TBS 1st Team All-American Daniel Slominski is the son of Bob and Lori Slominski. Daniel was born July 3rd 1996, he has an older sister, Emily and a younger brother, Ian. Daniel and his family live in Livermore, California which is located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Daniel is 5’9 and 140 lbs., built with baseball speed and power. His teammates have nicknamed him “the Rocket.” In the 2008 Elite World Series Daniel pitched 17 and 1/3rd innings with three complete game wins and one save. He struck out 26 batters and only allowed one earned run in the entire Series earning him the Elite World Series MVP. The mound is not the only place where Daniel excels, last year in 213 plate appearances he had a .446 batting average and a .632 Slugging Percentage. It’s no wonder that Daniel’s 2008 team the 11U Lamorinda Cougars finished the year ranked #1 by TravelBallSelect. We asked him a few questions and here’s what he had to say: Daniel’s favorite position is pitching and catching because he is likes to be involved in every play. His favorite MLB player is Ryan Howard because of his strength and power. His favorite team however, is his hometown San Francisco Giants. Daniel also excels on the soccer field as a California State Olympic Development Program goal-keeper. His favorite food is tacos but during the game he prefers seeds and water. Displaying his own super-human abilities on the baseball field, it’s no wonder why “Hancock” is his favorite movie. When Daniel is away from the game of baseball he loves playing soccer, playing video games, playing football and watching the TV show Seinfeld. In the classroom, Daniel’s favorite subject is history. Daniel’s team the Lamorinda Cougars, has some history with who he says is their rival team, #3 TBS ranked 11U Team TABU. Daniel’s best asset to his team is his pitching abilities. TravelBallSelect is thankful to have had the opportunity to visit with Daniel and wish him and his team the best this season. And the next time you see Daniel at the park, tell him that you read about the “the Rocket” on TBS.
