2009 12U Oklahoma Jammers Print E-mail
The Oklahoma Jammers baseball team is one of the elite teams in the state of Oklahoma. Over the last three years they have compiled an impressive 32 tournament victories. The 12U Oklahoma Jammers are a team on the rise who has the returnees and the additions that could challenge TravelBallSelect’s top ten teams in America. The Jammers return seven outstanding players including four of their top pitchers from the 2008 squad. These seven players have played together for multiple seasons and have become a very close-knit group of young men. Will Pickens is a solid hitter who lead the team last year in singles (58) and will play 2nd base for the Jammers in 2009. Blake Brewster is a slender left-handed centerfielder with a tremendous glove and great speed. Deshawn Irvin is a powerful hitter who led the team in batting average, RBI’s and homeruns last year. Zac Bycko is another homerun threat who plays third base and led the team in walks last year hitting cleanup. Kyle Tyler is a left-handed first baseman with a consistent bat at the plate and a consistent glove in the field. Blaze Schein is an outstanding pitcher but can play anywhere in the field as well. Kotcha Scott is a flamethrower who can command all of his pitches on both sides of the plate. The three key additions to the 2009 12U Oklahoma Jammers are Sean Dixon, Austin Guest, and Blake Devoe. Sean Dixon plays catcher and pitcher, with a ton of power at the plate and a ton of velocity on the mound. Austin Guest has incredible homerun power, hitting five homeruns in a double header this fall. Blake Devoe can play anywhere on the field, including atop the mound with a very good fastball. The 2009 12U Oklahoma Jammers are excited about what’s in store for them in the 2009 season. They have top notch instructors with hitting instructor All-American OSU Alumni, Chris Crosbie and pitching instructor’s former major leaguers, Jeff Bronkey and Rob Moore. The coaches have set up a tough schedule with the Cooperstown Championship and multiple Super NITs in order to qualify for a third consecutive visit to Florida’s Elite 32 USSSA Championships. TravelBallSelect would like to wish the 12U Oklahoma Jammers much success in their upcoming 2009 season.
