11U- Triple Crown Sports- Omaha SlumpBuster- Warriors Baseball (IL) vs. Southlake Dragons (TX) Print E-mail

La Vista Sports Complex, Omaha, NE. In the second round of pool play at Session II of the 11U Omaha SlumpBuster the Southlake Dragons defeated the Warriors Baseball Team from Illinois, 6-4. The two teams will head into pool play Sunday with thoughts of winning a Championship.

The Warriors scored a run in the 1st, a run in the 3rd and two runs in the 5th but came up short as the Dragons scored two in the 1st, one in the 3rd and three in the 4th.

The Warriors scored in the first after Devin May walked, Jake Dunham slapped a single past the diving Southlake first baseman. May led the way for the Warriors with two RBIs on the day.

The Dragons scored two runs with four singles in a row in the bottom of the 1st. Barrett Buck led off the game with an infield single, Andrew Young slapped a single over the second baseman’s head, Griffin Tolle brought home Buck with a single and Parker Miller brought home Young with an RBI single to left.

The Warriors tied the game up in the 3rd inning when Justin Yeager scored on a Devin May groundout. The Dragons would put the game away in the bottom of the 4th however, when Joey McCormick and Matthew Burgess reached base by way of a single and Chase Small singled to left to bring home McCormick. Jordan Kitna drove in a run with an RBI groundout that scored Burgess.

#11 Kober started on the mound for the Dragons picking up the win, throwing five innings while giving up four runs.
