2009 11U Tomateros de California PDF Print E-mail

The 11U Tomateros de California team is coming off a remarkable season in which they won the 10U National Youth Baseball Championship (billed as the tournament of champions as the top team from various youth baseball organizations meet at the end of the season in Memphis, TN).

The Tomateros are returning ten players from last year's team. The 2009 roster consists of: Isaak Gutierrez, Jose Luis Ruiz Jr., Henry Martinez,Bryan Duenas, Joshua Rios, William Aguilar, Lawrence Arrona, Andrew Quezada, David Molino and Gabriel Anaya. Leading these boys through a gauntlet of tournaments in 2009 are Head Coach Joe Ruiz and assistant coaches Luis Martinez, Raul Duenas and Nicolas Quezada.

The 11U Tomateros plan to play in major tournaments such as the Thanksgiving Super NIT and the State Championship. In addition, the Tomateros will be playing in as many 12U tournaments as possible so the young players can get the experience and competition that the 12U age division has to offer. These tournaments will prepare the players for the main goal of 2009 which is to win the Elite 32 in Orlando, Florida. Head Coach Joe Ruiz's personal goal for 2009 is to go undefeated in the 11U events to leave no doubt that the Tomateros de California are the best 11U team in the nation. The players are very disciplined and focused on the 2009 goals. "They play with a lot of heart and dedication, which has been the key to the success" says Coach Ruiz. "The Tomateros are a close knit group who are extremely talented and have fun playing the game of baseball. They give 100 percent every game." TravelBallSelect wishes the Tomateros de California much success in their quest for another championship in 2009.
