Greensboro, NC. The Greensboro Titans used great pitching and timely hitting to win their opening round game 9-1 over the North Carolina Baseball Academy (NCBA). Jordan Hodge started on the mound for the TBS Honorable Mention Titans. He found himself in a bases loaded jam in the first inning, only to get #9 Wilkinson of NCBA to pop out to first and struck out #13 Painter to end the threat. The Titans scored early and often, in the first inning Jacob Hilliard singled over the pitchers head, up next was Isaiah Stover who ripped a double to left field to score Hilliard. NCBA threatened again in the 2nd inning, with the bases loaded, the Titans brought in Jacob Hilliard to stop the bleeding. Hilliard struck out the first NCBA batter he faced and got the 2nd batter to fly out to first. NCBA scored one run in the 2nd inning, it would be their last run of the day. In the third inning Jake Chapman ripped a double to score Tristan Maness. Chapman came up again in the 4th inning and picked up another RBI with a single up the middle. Isaiah Stowe added to the Titans scoring with his 2nd RBI of the day with a groundout to shortstop. The Titans would build on this win to make a deep run in the tournament.
