North Texas Bulldogs, Dallas Tigers post victories

It was an abbreviated schedule on the opening day of the 2009 Elite Travel Classic Texas Regional, but a few teams were able to start pool play action. Among those teams that emerged from the first day with victories were the North Texas Bulldogs and Dallas Tigers. The Bulldogs were in a dogfight against the North Texas Storm through five innings, but were able to break open a one-run game with three runs in the sixth inning to grab a 7-3 lead. The Storm tried to fight back and scratched across one run in the bottom half of the frame, but it was not enough. In other action in McKinney, the Dallas Tigers overcame an early 1-0 deficit to run away with an 8-2 win over the Flower Mound Warriors. Over in Mesquite, the North Texas Express dropped a 9-1 decision to the Marshals 10U, but bounced back in the nightcap to post a 4-2 victory over Force Baseball.
