The RBI Hawks utilized the long ball and great defensive stops to defeat Bullet Baseball 4-0 on Thursday, July 16th in the 10U Elite 32 World Series. The Hawks hit two homeruns and turned a triple and a double play on the day. After a scoreless first, Bryce Hutchinson led off the second with a solo homerun, putting the Hawks up 1-0 and shaking up Bullet starting pitcher Tyler Zimmerman. Zimmerman loaded the bases before giving up a Tyler Jones' fielder's choice RBI making the score 2-0 Hawks. But Zimmerman settled down quickly and recorded a strikeout to end the inning. Bullet Baseball retaliated in the top of the third, loading the bases to knock out Hawks starting pitcher Joe Skinner. Logan Allen took the mound with the bases loaded and no outs before getting PJ Hardy to pop out into a rare and well-executed 4-6-3 triple play. William Rosado and Tyler Jones both doubled in the fourth, bringing the RBI Hawks lead to 3-0. Bullet pitcher Tyler Zimmerman made a smart pickoff play at third base to quell the damage, nabbing pinch runner Quinelle Rutledge to end the inning. The Bullets put on runners again in the top of the fifth, but the Hawks turned a 5-3-5-6 double play to end the Bullet rally. In the bottom half of the inning, Zimmerman picked off his second runner of the game and the Hawks added one more run on an Austin Wood solo homerun to center field, making the score 4-0 Hawks. Tristan Morse doubled in the sixth for the Bullets, but it wouldn't be enough offense as the Hawks held on to win 4-0.
