The Oklahoma Rays rode a dominant pitching performance by Brady Manek to beat the West Tennessee Wildcats 5-0 in the 10U Elite 32 World Series on Saturday, July 17th. The Rays began the game with an error, but starting pitcher Brady Manek retired the next three batters to get out of the first unharmed. Wildcat starting pitcher Duke responded with an impressive inning of his own, retiring the side on only five pitches. In the top of the second, a walk and an error put Wildcat runners on second and third, but a diving stop by Ray third baseman Eli Davis ended the scoring attempt. Roman Phansalkar led off the second for the Rays, getting a hit up the middle and moving to third on an Alex Peterson bunt. Eli Davis and Bo Dallas contributed back-to-back RBIs, putting the Rays on top 2-0. The Wildcats moved a runner to second in the fourth, but Brady Manek stuck out Thomas Stevens to end the inning. The Rays added another run in the bottom half of the inning when Alex Peterson scored on a Bo Dallas sacrifice fly to center making it 3-0 Rays and giving Dallas his second RBI of the game. The top of the fifth was a repeat of the fourth for the Wildcats, as they stranded a runner in scoring position when Brady Manek struck out his fifth batter of the day. Kaden Polcovich and Brady Manek added RBIs in the bottom inning bringing the Rays lead to 5-0 and forcing the Wildcats to bring in relief pitcher Evan Russell. Manek silenced the Wildcat bats in the sixth for a complete game shutout win, final score 5-0 Rays.
