Saturday, April 18th – Nine teams are facing off this weekend in Leesburg, Florida to determine who will be the 2009 USSSA 10 and under Florida State Champions.  This venue features two of the top 10 teams in the nation as ranked by TravelBallSelect.com; These ranked teams are; the #4 ranked Rawlings USA Patriots (Tampa), and the #7 ranked Mizuno’s Glory (Jacksonville).  In addition, TBS honorable mention - Bullets Baseball of Tampa is also competing for this championship event.  For complete rankings information, see TravelBallSelect.com rankings for the 2009 season kickoff for 10 and under teams.

After the conclusion of pool play rounds, four teams are making serious moves to indicate that they may be ready to contend for this year’s title as 10U Florida State Champions.  These teams include;

Mizunos Glory – This team won all pool play games and finished with the tournament best overall pool play record after a 10-5 win over Sudden Impact (Winter Springs) followed by an 11-7 win over the Oviedo Blackhawks (Oviedo,FL).  Mizunos play has earned them the top seeding along with a 1st round bye as they move into bracket play.  They will face the winner of the Bad Boys and the Avalance.

Rawlings Patriots - In addition, the Patriots will head into Sunday play with a 1-0-1 record after their 7-4 win over the Bad Boys (of Orlando) coupled with a 2-2 tie with Team Avalanche (of Auburndale).  The Patriots will face Sudden IMPACT in first round of bracket play on Sunday at 10:30AM.

Orlando Warrior - this team finished pool play with the best record considering runs allowed having given up only 3 runs per game.  The Warriors fell to the Bullets by a score of 6-3, then moved on to handle the Bad Boys 10-1.  The Warriors will open bracket play against Team COMBAT on Sunday at 10:30AM.

Bullets Baseball - this team beat the Orlando Warriors 6-3 but dropped a close 9-8 loss to Team Combat.  They will face the Oviedo Blackhawks at 2:30PM on Sunday.
