The 10U Bay Bombers from Panama City, Florida had an incredible 9U 2008 season. The team finished the season with a win-loss record of 52 and 5, collecting 9 championship along the way, including a nation championship. The team won 4 USSSA Tournaments out of six events, Presidents Day Bash, ASP Pre-Season Bash, Jerry's Cajun Shamrock Shootout and ASP Beach Blast. The Bombers won one Triple Crown Tournament, The Clearwater Spring Championship in Tampa Florida. They won 4 Grand Slam Tournaments including a National Championship - the Grand Slam World Series. The Bay Bombers finished the season competing in the Elite 24 in Orlando, FL. A 3-2 record was good enough to place them ninth out of 24 which featured some of the best teams in the nation. The Bombers are powered by a fundamentally sound defense with middle infielders RJ Yeager (SS) and Shardie Lucas (2B). The strong arm Mason Green plays third base and first baseman, Payton Millirons, is a powerhouse hitter. The outfield for the Bombers has the ability to track balls and execute plays as good as any other team at this age. Left fielder Clay Parker, Center fielder Alex Gann and right fielder Tanner Brown work hard to insure no ball lands on the turf in the outfield. The Bombers added pitcher Will Hardigree from Buford, Georgia for the Disney tournament to help ace pitcher Weston Bizzle and the always dominate pitcher Will Ramsey. For 2009 the Bombers picked up a big lefty pitcher, Austin Medley, and a talented ball player, Tristen Cooper. Both are from Bonifay, Florida. T he Bombers are under the guidance of Head Coach Ryan Yeager, Assistant Coaches Jeremy Millirons, Phil Gann and newcomer Bill Ramsey, and General Manager Scott Parker. The coaches are excited about the future of the team and intend to play against the best competition possible in order to challenge the boys from the Sunshine state. The Bay Bombers feel they have the talent to move up TravelBallSelect’s rankings. Playing in big events like the mid-season Cooperstown Dreams Park week long tournament or the post season Elite 24 tournament will definitely prove their worth.
