9U Update - Super Series Central Championships

Teams from the state of Arkansas made themselves feel right at home in Texas on Wednesday and Thursday during bracket play of the 9U Super Series Central Championships at The Ballfields at Craig Ranch in McKinney.

Like the older teams from their home state, the Arkansas Seminoles have also impressed during the early rounds of bracket play. The top seed and only team to not drop a game during pool play, the Seminoles picked up a 13-3 win over the Flower Mound Warriors and an 11-6 win over the North Texas Bulldogs. Arkansas then took down the No. 3 seed, the hometown McKinney Marshals, to move into the finals as the lone team without a loss.

The Marshals, who had outscored their opponents by a combined score of 18-2 in their previous two games, now find themselves battling for a rematch with the Seminoles against the Flower Mound Warriors, who entered bracket play as the No. 9 seed. After being rolled over by the Seminoles in the second round, Flower Mound rebounded with wins over the Irving Canes, the Diablos and the North Texas Bulldogs to advance to the final three teams.

The Diablos, who outscored their opponents 35-9 during an undefeated run through pool play and their first bracket game to earn the second seed, were blanked by the Marshals, 8-0, and then dropped their second consecutive games to the Warriors, 4-2.
