15U - Freedom Classic Update: Indiana Bulls vs The Dallas Yankees Print E-mail

LIDS INDIANA BULLS HOLD ON FOR 6-4 WIN OVER DALLAS YANKEES

July 6, 2008 - Akron, Ohio:

In a tremendously played game by both teams the Indiana Bulls prevailed 6-4 in the quarterfinal round of the 15U Travel Ball Select Tournament of Champions. Both teams came out with flamethrowers on the mound, with both pitchers estimated to be in the mid 80's. Bulls star reliever Ryan Byrne came in to hold the powerful Yankees to 2 runs over the final 4 innings. Ryan also closed out the Bulls earlier win over the Ohio Warhawks, another powerful hitting team. This kid is nails! Top hitters in this game were the same Bulls players that have impressed throughout the entire tournament, and include Max Kuhn, Max Terhar, and Chase Easton. A key play in the game had the Bulls third baseman climbing high on the fence to make the third out in 5th, this with the Yankees threatening with runners and second and third.

It is clearly taking a teams all around best play to continue to advance in this tournament that is featuring such outstanding levels of competition.

Next up, the Bulls will face off against the Middie Pride.  The winner will move on to the Championship Game to be played at 5:00pm today.
