14U Houston Heat
The Houston Heat will begin the 2008 season as the head of the class in the 14U division. The Heat are coming off an impressive 2007 campaign, which resulted in an Elite 24 National Championship. During the fall, the Heat spent most of their efforts in the 16U division where they faired very well. They wrapped up the fall with another championship at the 14U age group when they captured the Texas Fall State title with a victory over the Texas Drillers. The Heat will return the majority of last year’s team with some new additions that will make them even stronger in 08’. The biggest addition came when the Heat announced that Jacob Fowler would be joining the team. Fowler, who played with the Houston Banditos last year, should fit right in with the likes of Boomer White (TBS 13U Player of the Year), Michael Boriboun (13U TBS All-American), and Hayden Jones (13U TBS All-American). All three of these guys are special players and will play a prominent role in the Heat’s success this season. The Heat are loaded with talent, but can expect some major challenges during the course of the year. The 14U age group is shaping up to be a really strong division with teams such as the Alabama Storm, Houston Banditos, East Cobb Astros, Vegas Heat, NorCal, and the HB Nitro Elite just to name a few. All of these teams feel like they’ve gotten significantly better during the off-season, so we’re all in for a treat in the 14U division. Travelballselect.com will be there every step of the way to bring you the latest news on the Houston Heat and the rest of the travel ball community.
