2008 14U SEM Pirates

The 14U SEM Pirates are making serious noise on the national scene…

The 14U SEM Pirates have been very impressive this season on their way to a record of 54-4. Recently, the Pirates placed 5th in a very tough Battle in the South tournament with a 6-1 record. During pool play, the Pirates beat the (#19) Alabama Storm 6-0, (#11) Team Demarini 8-0, Lamorinda Generals 7-3 (Hon. mention), and the (#17) Columbus Sharks 5-2 on their way to earning the number 3 seed going into tournament play.

Earlier this season at the Michigan Super NIT, the SEM Pirates beat (#4) Team Anderson 9-2 on their way to claming the Super NIT Championship and a berth to Disney. The Pirates are definitely making their claim as a top ten team.

Some key players for the Pirates have been:

Anthony Kidston-- Pitcher --Beat Team Anderson 9-2 (3 hit complete game) - Alabama Storm 6-0 (4 hit complete game), and the Columbus Sharks 5-2 (no hitter complete game)

Tyler Adams -- CF -- continues to lead team in hitting,on base percentage, and runs scored – believed to be one of the best centerfielders in this age group - covers a lot of ground and has a cannon from the outfield. Probably will not play in Elite 24 due to Ohio football (QB)

Jesse Castillia - Pitcher - shut out #11 Team Demarini in an 8-0 complete game. Solid pitcher who throws hard and has command of all his pitches
