No. 7 OC Hawks 13, No. 3 Team Anderson 2 LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - In a game that was closer than the final score indicated, the OC Hawks of Rawlings defeated Team Anderson 13-2 to capture the championship at the 13 & Under Major Elite World Series at Disney's Wide World of Sports. The Hawks, ranked No. 7 at Travel Baseball Select, scored eight runs in the sixth inning to pull away from No. 3 Team Anderson. The Hawks' Chris Chinea was the offensive MVP, going 2-for-3 with two homers and four RBIs. His two-run shot in the sixth inning made it 9-2, putting the game out of reach for Team Anderson. The Hawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning after hitting five consecutive singles to start out the game. J.P. Crawford, Alex DeGoti and Chinea crossed the plate. In the second inning, Chinea blasted a pitch over the left field wall to score himself and DeGoti. Then in the sixth inning, Justin Baker scored on a throwing error, and Austin Grebeck scored on a Crawford single. Jayson Balades threw a complete game for the Hawks. "When we play smart and don't give any extra outs throughout the game, it makes it tough for teams to beat us," Hawks coach Craig Grebeck said.
