13U Elite 24 Semi-Finals: Team Anderson vs Hanover Heat Print E-mail

No. 3 Team Anderson 6, No. 17 Hanover Heat 5

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Timmy Lopez hit a solo shot as No. 3 Team Anderson topped No. 17 Hanover Heat 6-5 Saturday in the semifinals of the 13 & Under Major Elite World Series at Disney's Wide World of Sports.

With the game tied at five in the sixth inning, Lopez blasted the pitch over the fence to give Team Anderson the lead for good.

Steve Romo and Eric Hutting each went 2-for-4 for Team Anderson.

The Heat jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Skyler Genovese and Charlie Yogen both scored.

Then, with Team Anderson trailing 3-1 in the fourth inning, Anderson's Marcus Greene ripped a two-RBI double and then scored on an error to give Anderson a 4-3 lead.

Brad Dean went 2-for-3 for the Heat.

Team Anderson will play the OC Hawks of Rawlings in the championship at 11 a.m.
