13U Elite 24 Semi-Finals: OC Hawks vs East Cobb Astros Print E-mail

No. 7 OC Hawks 2, No. 8 East Cobb Astros 1

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Dennis Morton and Jayson Balades were lights out on the mound, leading the No. 3 OC Hawks of Rawlings to a 2-1 win against the No. 8 East Cobb Astros Saturday in the semifinals of the 13 & Under Major Elite World Series at Disney's Wide World of Sports.

The Hawks move on to play Team Anderson in the championship Saturday at 11 a.m.

Morton allowed one run in 5.2 innings to earn the win. Balades got the save, throwing a scoreless 1.2 innings.

Balades scored the winning run in the fifth inning on Justin Baker's RBI single. In the second inning, Balades hit an RBI single to score Austin Monte. Before that hit, Monte stole second and third base.

The Astros scored first, going up 1-0 in the first inning after Jamari Moore scored on a Travis Demeritte hit. Jojo Marlow threw a complete game for the Astros.
