13U Elite 24 Update: Rocket City Stingers vs OC Hawks Print E-mail

No. 2 Rocket City Stingers 7, No. 7 OC Hawks 5

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - It wasn't easy, but the Rocket City Stingers stayed alive in the 13 & Under Major Elite World Series at Disney's Wide World of Sports.

The Stingers, ranked No. 2 at Travel Ball Select, scored five runs in the sixth inning on their way to a 7-5 victory against No. 7 OC Hawks of Rawlings on Friday. They were trailing 5-2 going into the inning.
Chase Hamilton, Taylor Propst and Trent Simpson each homered in the sixth inning, lifting a Stingers team that looked as if it was going to go home with disappointment.

Jackson Stephens also homered for Rocket City. Victor Cole struck out 11batters in six innings of work.
For the Hawks, Aaron Porter went 2-for-2 with a homer and four RBIs, and Chris Chinea had a hit and two runs.
