13U Elite 24 Update: Hawks of Rawlings - Rocket City Stingers Print E-mail

No. 7 OC Hawks of Rawlings 13, Rocket City Stingers 0

 LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - The Rocket City Stingers, a tournament favorite and the second-ranked team at Travel Ball Select, got a reality check on Thursday courtesy of the No. 7 OC Hawks of Rawlings.

 The Hawks crushed the Stingers 13-0 in the winner's bracket of the 13 & Under Major Elite World Series at Disney's Wide World of Sports. Chris Chinea went 3-for-3 with a homer and four runs for the Hawks. Aaron Porter and Austin Monte also homered.

"That kind of game isn't going to happen too many times," said Craig Grebeck, the Hawks' coach. "That team will come back and play well. To me, that's the best team in the country."

 Jayson Balades earned the win for the Hawks, allowing no runs and five hits in five innings.

 Victor Cole went 2-for-3 for the Stingers.
