13U Preview - Disney Print E-mail

There have been some great events in 2008, The Michigan Major Elite NIT, Battle in the South and The Elite Travel Classic, just to name a few, but NOTHING compares to The Elite 24 on the beautiful grounds of Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Twenty of TBS top 25 teams will be in this event. Over 50 of TBS “players to watch” will be here! You will not find more talent assembled anywhere else in the country.

At the top of it all right now is two-time defending national champs, Banditos Black, out of Texas. This team has won over 150 games in a row at their age level. This team has to be the odds on favorite to win it all.

There is a small group of teams hot on the heels of the Banditos. This list includes Rocket City Stingers (AL), Team Anderson (CA), RBI Redwings (PA), MSA Black (MI) and OC Hawks (CA). They have a unique combination of deep pitching and powerful hitting that can match up with anyone in the country.

Pensacola Lightning (FL), Atlanta Monarchs (GA), Bullet Baseball (LA), Georgia Bandits (GA), Texas Hurricanes (TX), Texas Tornado (TX) and Beaver Valley Red (PA) all have one thing in common…..experience. They have all played in this event in the past and having that experience gives them valuable knowledge on how to handle pool play and their respective pitching match-ups. What you do on day one will have an effect on what you do on day three and having experienced that could be an advantage that these teams need to advance deep into the event.

East Cobb Astros (GA), Indiana Prospects (IN), Banditos Gold (TX), Lakeview Pirates (MS), Hanover Heat (VA), All American Sports Academy (CA), Ark-La-Tex (LA), Louisiana Tigers (LA), North Texas Thunder (TX), California Sting Outlaws (CA) and Florida Extreme (FL) are all new comers to this event this year but they didn’t do it with mirrors. They have all earned their way into this event, which makes them ALL a threat to win at any time they take the field.

Check back with TBS as we will keep you updated on all the games from Florida.
