13U Update - Super Series National Championship Print E-mail

July 20th (Cordova, TN)- Fifteen 13U Major teams are embarking upon the greater Memphis area for this week’s Super Series National Championship. TBS ranked # 15 Ark La Tex Tornadoes and honorable mentions Memphis Traveler 13’s and Buzz Lightning Baseball Academy (BLBA Black) lead off this impressive group of teams: the Indiana Cobras, Centex Longhorns, West Covina Bombers Elite, Semo Six, Tulsa Hurricanes, St. Louis Metro A’s, Texas Legends, Fighting Celtics, Blue Thunder, Memphis Tiger 13’s, Rawlings Red Sox and the Austin Slam Bulldogs.

At the conclusion of pool play the following teams were leading the pack, each with three wins and no loses: Memphis Tiger 13’s, West Covina Bombers Elite, and Buzz Lightning Baseball Academy.  Buzz Lightning Baseball Academy grasped the number one seed because of the runs against and runs for rule. TBS ranked #15 Ark La Tex Tornadoes came through pool play with a win against Memphis Traveler 13’s and against the Indiana Cobras and one loss to Buzz Lightning Baseball Academy. Robby Horn, grandson of the Tornadoes head coach Bob Horn pitched a shut-out against Indiana in their win of 10-0. The Memphis Traveler 13’s beat the Indian Cobras but lost to Buzz Lightning and Ark La Tex.  Buzz Lightning won all three games against Ark La Tex, Memphis Traveler 13’s and Indiana Cobras.

West Covina Bombers Elite held on to a close win against the Centrex Longhorns on Monday, July 21st. Centex’s Ed Butts hit a homerun in the lasting inning bringing the score to 3-2, but the Longhorns couldn’t finish the deal.
